Ofsted have produced a consultation document which outlines the changes that will come with the new framework and evaluation schedule. Inspections will take place under the new framework from January 2012. There’s a lot of interesting things in there. Reading will be a major focus of Primary inspections and literacy will form an even more important part of Secondary inspections. Behaviour in and out of the classroom will take a higher priority, CVA will be replaced by the “simpler measure” of VA and SMSC assumes a much higher profile. Lots of other interesting changes from the present schedule too. Well worth a read and a submission to the consultation.

I hope to be involved in leading pilot inspections for the new framework from September, so I can advise my schools early as to what to expect and training for most inspectors will take place in the autumn term. I’ll have to see what my inspection allocation looks like at the end of the summer term!
